About the role

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) seeks a Mental Health Therapist 2 to provide primary case management and teach classes in a treatment specialty area such as criminality or addiction, as well as provide behavioral therapy and security services to patients at the Oregon State Hospital, Salem Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary case management for a group of mentally, emotionally or behaviorally impaired patients.
  • Design, teach and evaluate classes in a treatment specialty area such as criminality or addiction.
  • Provide behavioral therapy to patients under supervision.
  • Participate in the basic care and treatment of and provide security and escort services for patients.
  • Contribute to the general therapeutic atmosphere of the work unit.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience working with people with behavioral illness or histories or physically impaired clients.
  • An associate or a bachelor’s degree in social science (such as social work, human services, psychology, child development, gerontology, health, or health education) may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
  • Must be able to work more than 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours in a week as required.
  • May require working on-call and/or rotating schedules.

  • Possess basic computer skills and be willing to learn new technologies as they are introduced into the workplace.

Schedule

This is a 100% onsite position, Monday-Friday, 2:30pm – 11:00pm, with days off on Saturday and Sunday.

Pay

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying range. If the successful candidate qualifies for PERS, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.
