About the role
As a Mental/Behavioral Health Tech at Benchmark, you will help improve the lives of adolescent boys struggling with life challenges, trauma, and abuse. This role uses a trauma informed care approach, and comprehensive training is provided to help you apply these principles effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with psycho-educational groups, physical activities, therapeutic and scholastic assignments
- Coaching pro-social skills by modeling healthy relationship building
- Compassionate listening and re-directing negativity to help residents feel safe and heal from past trauma
- Working collaboratively with peers to promote pro-social skills and improve self-esteem
- Providing consistent engagement and supervision to ensure safety and maintain routines
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a human service field or working toward a degree preferred but not required
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a criminal history background check and drug screen
- Resiliency – ability to manage stress in a dynamic environment
- Consistency – being a dependable presence that residents can count on
Pay
Hourly rates from $17.00 – $22.00 per hour based on education and relevant experience, PLUS generous additional pay of $2.00 to $4.00 per hour depending on the day and shift.
Schedule
- AM Shift: Sun – Thurs (6am – 2pm) + $4.00 per hr shift differential on Sunday
- PM Shift: Tues – Sat (2pm – 10pm) + $2.00 per hr differential Tues–Thurs & $4.00 on Fri & Sat
- Weekend Shift: Friday & Saturday (6am–2pm), Sun & Monday (2pm–10pm) PLUS choose your 5th (8hr) shift + $4.00 per hr shift differential on Fri, Sat & Sun & $2.00 on Monday
- Grave Shift: Wed – Sat (10pm – 6am) + $3.00 per hr differential Wed & Thurs and $4.00 per hr Fri & Sat
