Responsibilities
- Facilitate recreational leisure activities that promote social interactions and community engagement.
- Support consumers in planning and preparing for fun events and outings.
- Create and lead entertaining individual and group activities.
- Aid consumers in building new skills and enhancing their quality of independent living.
- Suggest improvements to consumer lifestyles and suggest new experiences.
- Accompany consumers to medical appointments and communicate medication changes.
- Implement infection control procedures and maintain sanitary food service practices.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in mental health/substance abuse disorders.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring twisting, turning, squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing from high/low positions, raising arms above the shoulder, sitting (on chairs and floors), climbing stairs, using hands and fingers, and communicating effectively.
- Basic reading, writing, and internet navigation skills.
- Experience with adults with disabilities preferred.
Qualifications
- Work and training schedule obtained from the Direct Support Coordinator.
- Available every other weekend.
- Maintain Secondary Drive Status.
- Willing to travel to all operations within the region.
- Must be available for shift differential on weekends.
- Must maintain a full-time work schedule if full-time position is desired.
- Frequent schedule changes or declining shifts may result in discharge.
- Must apply for a regular position to receive regular pay rates.
