About the role

At Devereux, as a Mental Health Technician, you will impact the individuals you are working with by unlocking their full potential on a daily basis by developing independent living skills and social skills to improve their interactions in their daily lives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the individuals you are working with are safe.
  • Engage in daily activities such as recreational and social activities that enhance social skill development.
  • Address and redirect inappropriate behavior of individuals you are working with.
  • Implement treatment plan goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and two years’ direct care experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline to include but not limited to psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, heath, recreation, criminal justice, counseling.
  • Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes.
  • Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.

  • Specialized training opportunities including PBIS, ABA, TIC, Safe and Positive Approaches, DBT and IEP.

  • Sign-on bonus of $2,000 for full-time and $500 for part-time external candidates which will be paid out over their first 6 months of employment.
  • Available shifts: 3pm-11:30pm (shift differential of $2hr, minimum of 4hrs. worked) 11pm- 7:30am must be available every other weekend and able to attend orientation for 1 week, Mon-Fri from 9am-5pm.
