About the role

Join a team where the Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the nursing treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from children through geriatrics. MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This position is an 8-hour shift from 7:00am to 3:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients of all ages.
  • Function as an active part of the nursing treatment team.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent (preferred).
  • Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or an appropriate therapeutic discipline (desirable).
  • One year of related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness (preferred).
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment online assessment.
  • Successful completion of CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training (certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation).
  • May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
