Responsibilities
- Maintains patient supervision in a treatment or educational setting.
- Reports patient observations to supervisor, following prescribed procedures and standards.
- Provides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and therapeutic environment.
- Participates in the development and implementation of treatment programs.
- Attends group sessions, training activities, and staff meetings; enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral difficulties and provides assistance in crisis intervention as needed.
- Serves on at least one hospital or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or work area.
- Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise levels and exposure to heat and cold. Frequent exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations. Occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature. Work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.
Requirements
Education & Experience: Degree (Bachelor or Associate) in psychology or mental health or High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of direct patient care experience in a mental health facility.
