Mental Health Professional (Therapist) Pre-Licensed

About the role

Hawaiʻi Behavioral Health is seeking Pre-Licensed Mental Health Professionals (Therapists) across all islands. This position offers support to families and children with severe emotional disturbances through therapeutic services and case management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for youth
• Engage families and youth in therapeutic services addressing issues like stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and more
• Accurately document all therapeutic services in an electronic health records system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team for high-quality, coordinated care
• Manage caseload and tailor services to meet specific needs of each youth

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field
• Minimum of one year of experience working in the behavioral or mental health field
• Valid Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger team

Additional requirements

• Cleared criminal background check and signed statement regarding felony indictments/convictions
• Cleared 2-Step TB test results (current within 12 months prior to employment)
• Proof of valid/current auto insurance
• Three (3) employment references
• Access to reliable transportation and vehicle registration
• Proof of valid Driver’s License
• First Aid/CPR (HBH reimburses after 90 days of employment)
