About the Role

The Mental Health Counselor will work with all disciplines on the Mental Health Unit to attain effectiveness in serving the patient population at Broward Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
• Performs administrative consults for specialized social services as determined by the specific needs of the Institution.
• Performs specific psychiatric social service work on the Behavioral Health Unit of a Juvenile Detention Facility.
• Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects; may direct special projects as requested.
• Participates in and conducts in-service programs, assists in the orientation of new staff, and provides necessary preparation of documentation, records, and reports.
• Attends training and meetings as required.

Requirements

• Must be a Licensed, Master’s Level Behavioral Health Clinician (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist) who can assess, make treatment decisions, and provide Mental Health treatment.
