Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services to persons served in compliance with policies and relevant professional standards, including individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Complete relevant clinical documentation, including clinical service reports and mental health treatment records, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide consultation services to institutional staff, including screening committees and psychiatric staff, regarding the mental status and management of persons served.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service training programs, and specialized clinical services and/or program development activities.
  • Maintain accountability for services provided through participation in the Quality Improvement program and timely and accurate recording of activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field from an accredited college or university.
  • Courses and professional experience indicating knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, psychological assessment techniques, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
  • Licensure in the state from the appropriate state licensing board (LMSW, LPC, or similar).
  • Maintain CPR certification and any other required certifications (such as First Aid).

Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse populations and providing mental health services in a correctional setting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with healthcare and custody teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Details vary based on employee type and length of service.

Schedule

This is a PRN position, requiring a minimum commitment of four shifts per month, including one weekend shift, one major holiday, and one minor holiday. Currently, we are only able to entertain independently licensed therapists for this role.
