Mental Health Professional / Adult Clinician (Charleston)

Job Responsibilities

Provide quality person-centered care as demonstrated by the use of evidence-based clinical interventions.

Provide all forms of direct services as credentialed by the Center in an efficient manner as evidenced by meeting the established productivity expectation.

Documentation is reflective of the quality care expected of this position.

Demonstrate recognition of importance of collaboration and teamwork within the Center and community.

Ensure patient functionality is measured according to established standards.

Ensure timely response to request for services.

Comply with all BHDD/CDMHC, policies and protocols, applicable QI, Corporate Compliance and CARF policies and procedures and Federal and State rules and regulations and attend all trainings classified mandatory by Federal and State regulations and Center policy.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
• In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Please be sure to provide specific clinical activities on your application and/or resume.
• This position requires the ability to bend, stoop, climb, drive from location to location, and lift up to 5 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by BHDD.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Additional Comments

Have working knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices, of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services.

Have considerable knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric settings.

Have working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies.

Able to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment and to the ability to conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusions and recommend required actions.
