About the program
The Willow Tree Crisis Stabilization Program provides short-term residential support for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The goal is to help individuals stabilize in a safe, supportive environment while developing the skills, resources, and confidence needed to successfully transition back into the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and skills training to adults experiencing mental health crises
- Absorb and assist individuals in developing coping strategies and recovery skills
- Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Implement interventions identified in Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs)
- Support clients in identifying and utilizing crisis management strategies
- Complete intake paperwork, releases, and other required documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and service records
- Observe and document medications taken as prescribed
- Connect clients with community resources and support services
- Collaborate with mental health professionals, case managers, family members, and community partners
- Promote a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment
- Attend clinical supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing training opportunities
- Follow all agency policies regarding confidentiality, client rights, incident reporting, and vulnerable adult protections
Requirements
- Qualified applicants must meet Minnesota Mental Health Practitioner requirements and possess one of the following:
- - Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or related field and 2,000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with mental illness or substance use disorders;
- - Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or related field and completion of an internship or practicum involving direct client interaction;
- - 4,000 hours of experience providing services to adults or children with mental illness or substance use disorders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with adults experiencing serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI)
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, prevention, and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
