About the role
The Mental Health Practitioner supports clinical services to children and adolescents with mental health diagnoses, providing outpatient skills services.
Responsibilities
- Provide skills training to children and adolescents
- Document sessions accurately
- Work closely with families and other professionals
- Adhere to clinical protocols and standards
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences
- At least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical hours working with children OR completed internship in behavioral health field working with children
- Valid Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable record
- Experience with preschool-aged children with special needs is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated respect for sensitivity to family and cultural differences
- Effective communication in the English language
- Computer proficiency using Word and Excel with proficiency in keyboarding skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion with a focus on culturally responsive practice, internal self-awareness, and reflection
Qualifications
- Must be qualified in at least one of the following ways:
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences AND 2,000 hours of supervised work clinical hours working with children
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences AND completed internship in behavioral health field working with children
- Work experience only: 4,000 hours of supervised work clinical hours working with children
- Valid Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable record
- Experience with preschool-aged children with special needs highly preferred, not required
- Demonstrated respect for sensitivity to family and cultural differences
- Effective communication in the English language
- Computer proficiency using Word and Excel with proficiency in keyboarding skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
