About the role
MEMBERS serving as Mental Health Outreach Specialists (MHOS) raise awareness, reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and seeking treatment, and equip individuals with the necessary tools to recognize and address stressors.

Member Duties
- Promote and protect mental health in the community through education about resources and programs that promote mental wellbeing
- Create safe space for open community or one-on-one dialogs about mental health to take place
- Educate the community about warning signs and symptoms of mental illness
- Facilitate mental health awareness community events
- Create mental health awareness material
- Compile mental health resource lists for community
- Share strategies and tools for addressing mental health stressors
