Mental Health Licensed Associate

Do you want to use your skills and strengths as a member of a collaborative team? As a mental health professional, you will support patients in the county jail system. While working in this position, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow under the supervision of an independently licensed practitioner who meets the board’s requirements as a supervisor. This allows you to receive the clinical experience and supervision needed to advance your career and enable you to become independently licensed.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine follow-up appointments to monitor patients discharged from the Mental Health Unit (MHU) at 24-hour, 1-week, and, if necessary, 2-week intervals
- Conducts in-depth follow-up with patients housed in the Mental Health Unit
- Completes biopsychosocial and suicide risk assessments under the supervision of an independently licensed mental health professional
- Performs routine follow-up appointments to monitor the mental health status of patients in the Opioid Treatment Program
- Facilitates therapeutic and psychoeducational group treatment under the supervision of an independently licensed mental health professional
- Completes routine clinical documentation, such as consent forms for treatment, treatment refusal forms, and notes completed for non face-to-face interactions
- Works collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team members regarding patient care
- Captures and documents mental health care with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO)
- Maintain familiarity with mental health diagnoses that correspond to ICD-9DM and DSM-IV TR (DSM 5) manuals
- Maintains HIPAA patient confidentiality in the management of information
- Adheres to all applicable professional standards and requirements, including modeling the code of ethics associated with licensure and certification, and meeting regulatory, licensure, accreditation, health assessment, and CPR requirements
Requirements
- One year of behavioral health experience
- A master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited program
- A valid, unrestricted license issued by the Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), OR Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), OR Licensed Associate Addiction Counselor (LAAC)

Skills
Must be able to work inside a jail and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift while accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks
Working Conditions

- Position includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidays
- Travel or floating to various clinical locations is required within a 5-mile radius
- Must be able to respond to emergencies
- Must maintain CPR certification and get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint background/security clearance process and maintain MCSO jail access

$64,500 - $88,500 annually

The position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
