About the Opportunity

The Mental Health Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing patient interactions and coordinating testing services. This role serves as a critical contact point for clinics, physicians, medical staff, and patients, ensuring accurate test processing and clear communication. The position directly impacts patient care by facilitating timely and effective testing procedures and supporting overall service quality.

Responsibilities

  • Review test request forms and documentation to ensure accurate and timely testing
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to complete required documentation and sample submissions
  • Confirm insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Communicate with patients regarding insurance coverage, test information, process, and turnaround times
  • Spend approximately 60-80% of time on phone interactions
  • Independently manage assigned work while meeting production and quality metrics
  • Collaborate across departments including technology, revenue cycle, sales, and lab teams to ensure prompt order and billing processing
  • Identify issues and trends; work with team and leadership to develop best practices
  • Participate in Quality Assurance activities
  • Comply with CLIA and HIPAA regulations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or associate/bachelor's degree
  • Spanish fluency preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High typing speed preferred
  • Excellent listening, transcribing, and self-review capabilities
  • Proficient with PC applications including Excel, Word, Internet, and email
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and professional judgment
  • Problem-solving skills and pattern recognition
  • Team-oriented and supportive work ethic
