About the role
This position involves supervising and managing professional clinical workers in areas such as child protective services, adult services, senior services, or juvenile services. It is an Open Competitive/Countywide Promotional recruitment to fill a current full-time vacancy in the Human Services Agency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage professional clinical workers in child protective services, adult services, senior services, or juvenile services.
- Provide oversight and support to therapists in detention who deliver supportive therapy, crisis therapy, and assessments to youth.
- Oversee a mental health services unit for both detention and probation services within the Jan Evans Juvenile Justice Center.
- Lead a team of licensed Mental Health Counselor staff, clinical interns, and Case Workers, offering training, guidance, and supervision, as well as direct client services.
- Take part in and lead agency teams and initiatives, including program implementation, data collection, and reporting on a Local, State, and Federal level.
Requirements
- Three years of full-time experience performing clinical case work.
- A master’s degree from accredited college or university in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology or closely related field.
- Licensure in the State of Nevada to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Marriage and Family Therapist or a Clinical Professional Counselor.
- A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Certified Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor or Certified Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor Intern or Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor or Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor is preferred.
Skills
- Experience providing therapy and case management to at-risk adolescents and their families.
- Knowledge of mental health services and other community resources.
- Ability to navigate community resources effectively.
- Prior mental health supervisory experience is required.
