Mental Health Counselor- Licensed In-Home, Youth ACT Program

About the role

The Licensed In-Home Mental Health Counselor provides assessment, counseling, and mental health services to youth and families in various settings. They work closely with the multidisciplinary treatment team to address mental health concerns and stabilize youth and families.

Responsibilities

  • Mental health assessment and counseling in the home or community
  • Individual, family, and group counseling to a diverse population
  • Developing and implementing social, interpersonal, self-care, and independent living skills
  • Supporting functional gains and adapting to community living
  • Guiding families during and following crisis episodes
  • Maintaining the crisis phone, on-call rotation
  • Collaborating with other treatment providers and collateral contacts
  • Completing and submitting required documentation in a timely manner
  • Participating in the agency's Quality Improvement Process and other meetings
  • Adhering to NYS and agency requirements including HIPPA, ethical guidelines, confidentiality, child abuse identification and reporting, incident reporting, worker safety protocols

Requirements

  • NYS Education Department license in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Demonstrated cultural competence in working with disadvantaged/minority populations
  • Valid NYS driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Computer literacy and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred

Pay

$62,400 per year - based on a 35 hour work week

Schedule
