Mental Health Counselor / Behavioral Health Consultant (Licensed)
About the role
Northwest Human Services is a non-profit organization providing a range of services including advocacy, quality healthcare, and social services in Marion and Polk counties. The organization focuses on serving uninsured individuals, families, the homeless, and migrant workers with a mission to provide compassionate and professional medical, dental, psychiatry, mental health, and wraparound services.
Responsibilities
- Mental Health Counselor:
- Provide mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and groups, including assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing treatment.
- Support clients with mental health, co-occurring, and complex needs while helping improve functioning and progress toward treatment goals.
- Complete timely clinical documentation and participate in required clinical supervision in alignment with organizational, regulatory, and licensure standards.
- Behavioral Health Consultant:
- Provide brief, focused behavioral health interventions for medical patients experiencing emotional, behavioral, mental health, co-occurring, or chronic condition-related concerns.
- Engage in same-day access appointments, warm handoffs, walk-ins, and consultation with medical providers and clinic staff.
- Support patients in reducing behavioral barriers to care, increasing self-management skills, and improving overall wellness and health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Must have appropriate credentials and level of training and licensed as an LCSW in the state of Oregon or have a master’s degree in counseling and be licensed (LPC/LMFT), or doctoral level education in Clinical Psychology (PsyD/PhD) and appropriate licensing and credentialing.
- Must have graduate course work in theory, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and dual diagnosis disorders.
- Must have experience working with persons who have mental health issues and those who are in emotional distress.
- Demonstrate proficiency using DSM-5-TR, DSM V, and ICD-10.
- Candidates with experience in a medical clinic are preferred.
