About the role

The Specialist-Mental Health (MHS) works with other members of inpatient unit staff to provide patient care in a variety of job duties, under the direct supervision of the RN, Mental Health Professional Therapist, or the inpatient unit Manager or Director. Provides hospital-level and focused patient care, support, and milieu management for patients with behavioral health conditions and illness. Under the direction of an RN or other designated clinical staff, observes and reports on patient conditions. Responsible for and/or supports the daily and various therapeutic activities care of the patients. Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary treatment team in the initial development and modification of treatment care plans both during the admission process and during inpatient hospitalization.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a variety of job duties under direct supervision.
• Deliver hospital-level and focused patient care, support, and milieu management for patients with behavioral health conditions.
• Observe and report on patient conditions under the direction of an RN or other designated clinical staff.
• Support daily and various therapeutic activities for patients.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary treatment team in developing and modifying treatment care plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in preferred fields: Social Work, Social Sciences, or Human Services.
• 2 years in an acute or residential inpatient psychiatric facility, or alternative behavioral school in a similar role. Applicable internship or practicum experience may be applied towards required years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Willamette Falls - CAPU: Experience in a child or adolescent psychiatric environment.
• PPMC - Adult Inpatient Psych Unit: Experience in an adult psychiatric environment.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $28.41 - $43.47 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
