Mental Health Counselor

About the role

Mentor South Bay provides Early Intervention, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Behavioral Health and Mental Health Outpatient services across Massachusetts and Connecticut. For over 35 years, we've provided a collaborative, team-based approach dedicated to helping children, adults, and families reach their fullest potential. Responsibilities

• Conducts psychosocial assessments to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment.
• Provides individual, couple, family and/or group therapies and family supports and crisis interventions.
• Provides mental health consultation to stakeholders and treatment team members.
• Develops individualized treatment plans in coordination with interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinates other treatment initiatives and develops and coordinates discharge plans.
• Attends treatment team staffing and level of care meetings as required.
• Conducts educational groups and prepares families to resume care of their child (if applicable).
• Maintains current, legible and adequate medical record documentation.
• Attends regular staff meetings, clinical meetings, training, and one-on-one sessions with direct supervisor.
• Performs other related duties and activities as required.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in health human services field.
• Massachusetts: Must have a Master’s degree in social work, counseling or clinical psychology or closely related field in Health and Human Services.
• Completed a full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting.
• Licenses eligible preferred. Social Workers must be in process of applying for license as Certified Social Worker (LCSW).
• Current driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

• Knowledge of treatment modalities and ability to adapt to different settings.

Pay

$60,000–$65,000, plus a $6,000 sign-on bonus.
