About the role
Join us as a Mental Health Counselor, providing vital support on inpatient psychiatric units during every other weekend evenings.
Responsibilities
- Conducting patient observations, safety checks, and monitoring progress.
- Assisting with activities of daily living and providing supportive interactions.
- De-escalating acute situations and ensuring a safe therapeutic environment.
- Developing therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Assisting with patient care in accordance with treatment plans and documenting in the EMR system.
- Facilitating patient groups and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma; Bachelor's in psychology or human services preferred.
- Previous experience as a PCT, PCA, CNA, or Medical Assistant required; a degree may substitute experience.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
- Experience in psychiatric or substance inpatient settings, crisis intervention, and restraint reduction preferred.

Pay
Compensation ranges from $20.11 to $24.00 based on experience.
Schedule
Every other weekend evenings.
