Job Summary
The Mental Health Care Provider (MHCP) responds to and coordinates responses to crises during shifts, providing crisis follow-up services and hospital liaison activities.
General Responsibilities
- Follow Willapa Behavioral Health & Wellness Service Excellence Standards / Code of Ethics and Policies and Procedures.
- Adhere to rules of confidentiality.
- Respect and accommodate a diverse population.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
- Respond to crises within two hours of the initial call.
- Cookpise crisis response with Designated Crisis Responders (DCR) as needed.
- Assist clients with developing appropriate crisis/safety plans.
- Provide and coordinate all follow-up services.
- Facilitate an intake into the mental health system for high-risk clients.
- Participate in clinical, planning, and staff meetings.
- Complete all documentation according to agency requirements.
- Attend professional conferences and workshops.
- Maintain current mandatory certifications, licenses, and training.
- Remain current on WBH communications.
Requirements
- For a Mental Health Professional (MHP): Master’s degree or further advanced degree in counseling or social sciences, at least two years of supervised mental health experience.
- For a Mental Health Care Provider (MHCP): A.A. level in a related field with two years of mental health experience.
- For a Certified Peer Counselor (CPC): Certification as a peer counselor and current registration/certification/license.
- Develop good relationships and work effectively with various teams.
- Represent the agency professionally and communicate effectively.
- Have excellent computer skills and be able to document in the electronic medical record.
- Be able to lift up to 25 pounds and drive in various weather conditions.
- Meet current Washington health care vaccination requirements.
Salary Description
$20 - $25 per hour.
