Role Overview

Provides comprehensive patient care and support in clinical settings, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being for patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and nutrition, while safeguarding personal space and belongings.
  • Perform and document clinical measurements including vital signs, intake, and output.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort through proper body mechanics, equipment use, and adherence to policies for restraints and monitoring.
  • Conduct frequent rounds to observe and anticipate patient needs.
  • Support patient participation in leisure activities and address their activity needs.
  • Assist with ECT procedures, including equipment setup, patient transport, and post-treatment monitoring.
  • Follow procedures for caring for potentially violent or self-harming patients, including observation, seclusion, and restraints.
  • Respond to emergency situations such as Code Blue, utilizing CPI principles under supervision to maintain safety and de-escalate situations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college courses in mental health or nursing preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare or a Nursing Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant is advantageous.

Work Environment & Additional Info

  • Work in patient care and office areas with frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Use of PPE and exposure to cleaning solutions in accordance with infection control policies.
  • Serve patients across all age groups with access to sensitive patient information.
