Responsibilities
- Supervise and support staff while adhering to shelter policies and procedures.
- Serve as the main point of contact for staff regarding scheduling concerns.
- Oversee the shift schedule, including managing staff time off, handling unexpected absences, addressing lateness, and coordinating alternate staff to ensure adequate shift coverage.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance.
- Handle conflicts following program guidelines.
- Respond to client and shelter emergencies in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Update the Nightly Shelter Log.
- Facilitate communication with other shift supervisors and the Program Manager.
- Serve as a professional role model for both staff and participants in the program.
Schedule
4:00pm–12:00am, Friday–Sunday
Pay
$20.00 per hour
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. with three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience working with a specific population is preferred.
- Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License.
- N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry clearance.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities, including those that may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to work with children/adults in a challenging and active environment.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
