Men's Ice Hockey Club Coach
Duties/Responsibilities
- Aware of and follow all policies and procedures relative to the Club Sport Program and the Office of Student Involvement.
- Aware and adhere to all Keene State College (KSC) policies on Sexual Misconduct, Discriminatory Harassment and Amorous Relationships and Hazing.
- Ensure club players understand and are aware of these policies and refrain from participating in or contributing to behaviors that may be in violation of these policies.
- Solicit immediate assistance from an appropriate KSC administrator if there is a report of suspected misconduct.
- Primarily responsible for practice planning & supervision, game strategy/management, line-up/roster decisions, and providing all necessary supervision and instruction during scheduled practice time, especially for high-risk club activities.
- Collaborate with club leadership to oversee budget planning, season scheduling, equipment inventory, compliance with NECHA & ACHA policies, and marketing/recruiting.
- Abide by all respective league rules and policies pertaining to club players.
- Model good behavior and sportsmanship and maintain a positive demeanor when interacting with opposing teams, coaches, and game officials.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience playing and/or coaching ice hockey.
- Current USA Hockey coaching certification and SafeSport certification.
- Computer literate: proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and various online platforms for scheduling, compliance, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience coaching ice hockey at the collegiate level.
- Experience (or willingness to train) in understanding maintenance of wellness and mental health in contemporary student-athletes.
Pay
Pay Range: $35.00/hour

About the Role
The Men’s Ice Hockey Club (MIHC) Coach’s role is to provide skill development through practice or instruction and game preparation based on their knowledge and experience. Proper and safe techniques must be utilized in training and game situations to ensure the health and well-being of the students is a top priority. Risk management must always be taken into consideration when training students with limited experience, skill, or knowledge of the sport.
