About the role
The Memory Care Activity Director position at Canterbury is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, mentor, lead, and motivate a team of Activity Assistants to provide engaging and age-appropriate activities for the residents.
- Create diverse and meaningful activity offerings that suit different physical and cognitive abilities.
- Develop and implement recreational programs that enrich the lives of our residents.
- Maintain a supportive presence and create a comfortable environment for our residents.
- Balance daily schedules, manage multiple residents, and prepare for activities.
- Collaborate with other departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; two years’ experience in a social or recreational program in a healthcare setting.
- Satisfactory completion of an Activities Director training or a degree in recreational therapy.
- Successful completion of a state-approved or nursing assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program.
- Demonstrate C.A.R.E. values to our residents, family members, customers, and staff.
