Memory Care Activities Director

About the role

The Memory Care Activity Director position at Canterbury is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, mentor, lead, and motivate a team of Activity Assistants to provide engaging and age-appropriate activities for the residents.
• Create diverse and meaningful activity offerings that suit different physical and cognitive abilities.
• Develop and implement recreational programs that enrich the lives of our residents.
• Maintain a supportive presence and create a comfortable environment for our residents.
• Balance daily schedules, manage multiple residents, and prepare for activities.
• Collaborate with other departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; two years’ experience in a social or recreational program in a healthcare setting.
• Satisfactory completion of an Activities Director training or a degree in recreational therapy.
• Successful completion of a state-approved or nursing assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program.
• Demonstrate C.A.R.E. values to our residents, family members, customers, and staff.
