Responsibilities

  • Supervise children in the playhouse are at all times
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following the YMCA policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular headcounts and monitor children's activities to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies or incidents
  • Adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of individual children and the group
  • Greet parents and children warmly upon arrival and departure
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's experience and any issues or concerns
  • Provide feedback to the Program Director on program success and areas for improvement
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized playhouse area
  • Sanitize toys, equipment, and surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of germs
  • Ensure that supplies are stocked and report any needs to the Program Director
  • Maintain accurate attendance records
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the Program Director immediately

Qualifications

  • Minimum age requirement 16 years
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • Previous experience working with children in early education, camp, or similar settings
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (willingness to obtain upon hire)
