Member Services Representative

About the role

The City of Allen seeks a dedicated individual to join our Recreation Center team. This position provides customer service, manages facility operations, and assists with special events.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and administer tours of the facility
• Answer phones, direct calls, and respond to inquiries
• Register members, classes, camps, and activities using ACTIVE software
• Process POS transactions and take payments
• Promote the facility, programs, and services to members and guests
• Resolve customer complaints and respond to inquiries
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
• Ensure safety in the front lobby and maintain supply levels
• Assist with concessions and playroom operations
• Interact with other City employees and citizens

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• No prior relevant work experience required
• First Aid/CPR Certification (adult and children)
• Babysitting Certification
• Food Handlers Certification

Qualifications

• Knowledge of City rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Record keeping and records management principles
• Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
• Assessing and prioritizing tasks and projects
• Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution skills
• Operating a personal computer and utilizing business software
• Reading and understanding City, State, and Federal rules and regulations
• Establishing and maintaining working relationships
• Effective communication in both oral and written formats

Physical Demands / Work Environment

• Standard office environment with occasional outdoor work
• Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully
• 50% - 70% of work time sitting or standing
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
• Ability to bend, climb, walk, and crouch
• Ability to operate athletic, Audio/Visual, and concession equipment
• Ability to use hand tools
