About the role
The Member Service Representative II role is a retail service position responsible for providing a world-class member experience to both credit union members and co-workers. Performs a broad variety of transactional duties to serve members promptly and professionally while representing the credit union in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner with a high degree of accuracy. In addition to demonstrating a high level of proficiency, the duties of the Member Services Representative II position will progress in phases. After developing a strong foundation of branch basics, a successful Member Services Representative II will continue to demonstrate their knowledge and proficiency by learning new functions and growing as a leader and role model.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a world-class member experience by building rapport, earning trust, and servicing member needs accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
- Perform a full range of teller and member service transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, account maintenance, wire transfers, and fraud-related support.
- Open and service new accounts with a high level of accuracy and confidence, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Proactively engage members in meaningful conversations to identify financial needs and recommend appropriate solutions that support their financial goals.
- Maintain strong cash handling practices and operational controls, balancing drawers daily and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with branch operations including opening and closing procedures, alarms, night drop processing, ATM/ITM servicing, and workstation organization.
- Ensure compliance with all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA and AML standards.
- Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products and services.
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to providing excellent service in every interaction.
- Establish and maintain effective coordination and working relationships with employees across departments and branches.
- Must maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Cash handling experience is required.
- Previous experience working in a financial institution, retail, or customer service role preferred.

Physical Requirements
- This position requires standing for long periods of time and working primarily at a workstation or desk in an open office environment.
- Daily tasks include extensive use of a computer performing standard keyboard functions, requiring repeated motion.
- Some light lifting.
- Occasional lifting/carrying of bags of coin up to 50 lbs.

Pay
Starting pay: $23.50 per hour. May be eligible for variable incentive plan.
