About the role
Kiso Kiso Technology is a firm based in San Francisco that develops algorithms, models, and software systems to solve complex problems in a variety of domains. Clients range from early-stage startups to some of the largest companies in the world.
Responsibilities
- Join a team with deep expertise in machine learning, optimization, data science, and software engineering.
- Work on small, focused project teams (typically 2-4 people) to address complex strategic questions and deliver end-to-end solutions to ambiguous questions like “How can we manage our inventory more efficiently?” and “Why are we losing customers?”
- Own the entire process—from framing the problem to building a solution and ensuring it drives lasting impact.
- Examples of solutions we might deliver:
- LLM-based agent to automate expert analyst workflows in healthcare revenue cycle, ingesting unstructured contracts and claim data to identify recovery opportunities across 100M+ claims
- Core recommendation engine for a major dating app
- Coherent hierarchical probabilistic forecasting model, for thousands of products with intermittent demand
- Real-time delivery route planner, accounting for traffic conditions and live order changes
Requirements
- Strong skills and professional experience in at least one of:
- software engineering in a collaborative, production environment
- applied math, e.g., AI, operations research, statistics, probability, and/or machine learning
- Product leadership on AI
- Excellent communication skills, can distill technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Comfort in a client-facing role
Qualifications
- Nice to have:
- PhD in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field
- Successful track record leading large-scale technical projects, especially in a customer-facing role
- Deep expertise and/or thought leadership in a technical field (e.g. influential writing, strong publication record, professorship)
Skills

Benefits
We offer relocation assistance for new employees and highly-competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role is $110,000-$350,000. We also offer a generous performance-based bonus and an array of company benefits.
