Member of Technical Staff (Storage)

About the role

Cockroach Labs is seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and support of CockroachDB, a distributed SQL database.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and implementation of CockroachDB features and improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and sales to ensure customer satisfaction and product success.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Support customers through various channels including email, phone, and online forums.
• Write clear and concise documentation for CockroachDB users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in software development or a related field.
• Strong understanding of SQL and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems and databases.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools.
• Understanding of data modeling and database optimization techniques.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Good understanding of cloud-native technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
