About The Opportunity

A company is search for a MTS with 1–5 years of experience to join a lean, fast-moving team building the commerce infrastructure powering AI. You will be creating the foundational rails that allow AI agents to understand, discover, and transact with products across the real economy. You'll work directly with the founders and a small team of founding engineers. This is a role for someone with raw intelligence, high initiative, and a genuine passion for building. This is a full-time on-site position in San Francisco, CA.

Job Responsibilities

• Building and refining the interaction layer between AI agents (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) and product data — ensuring agents can effectively understand and reason about commerce data.
• Designing and shipping backend infrastructure including APIs, data ingestion pipelines, and retrieval systems that serve structured product data at scale.
• Taking end-to-end ownership of projects — from architecture and design to shipping and iterating based on real outcomes.
• Collaborating directly with founders and sitting in on customer calls, contributing to product direction and go-to-market strategy.
• Taking an active role in staying at the frontier of AI tooling and coding models, leveraging the latest tools to maximize engineering velocity.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 - 5 years of experience in backend/infra software engineering, building APIs and data pipelines.
• Has shipped a 0- to- 1 product to real users.
• Experience at a startup or recognizable tech company.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent technical field.
• Built production APIs, data pipelines, or search infrastructure.
• Actively uses AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc. ).
• Active GitHub or personal projects outside of work.

Nice To Have Skills

• E-commerce or product data infrastructure experience.
• Experience with embeddings, retrieval, or recommendation systems.
