About the role
This is a builder role with a research dimension. You'll move fluidly between deep technical exploration and shipping production-grade systems, working across the off-chain and infrastructure layers that make Edge's products operable for regulated institutions — validator and staking infrastructure, custody and key management integrations, compliance automation, and the services that sit between on-chain protocols and institutional stacks.
Responsibilities
- Design and build the off-chain systems and infrastructure that power Edge's on-chain products — validator and staking architectures, custody and key management integrations, compliance automation, and the APIs and services that connect institutional workflows to on-chain settlement.
- Own deployments end-to-end: infrastructure-as-code, observability, audit logging, runbooks, and the SLAs that institutional clients depend on.
- Take ownership of architecture and implementation, not just execution against a spec.
- Move ideas from research and prototype through to production without losing rigor.
- Contribute to technical research and help define the direction of new systems.
- Engage with emerging on-chain primitives and assess how they translate into production-grade infrastructure for regulated institutions.
Requirements
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, backend engineering, and production cloud infrastructure.
- Experience designing and operating systems with real reliability, security, and auditability requirements.
- A track record of taking ideas from prototype to production with care and rigour.
- Comfort working in a high-autonomy, fast-moving environment.
- Working knowledge of blockchain systems — Ethereum, Solana, validator operations, or on-chain protocols — or a clear track record of picking up new domains deeply and quickly.
- High agency, low ego. You own your work end-to-end and hold yourself accountable for quality.
Bonus points
- Experience with regulated financial infrastructure, custody systems, or institutional capital markets workflows.
- Background running validator infrastructure or staking systems at scale.
- Familiarity with secure key handling, HSMs, or distributed systems at scale.
- Prior work integrating with KYC/AML, treasury, or risk systems.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks and standards.
- Experience with smart contracts and blockchain development.
Skills
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Go, Rust, Python, or Java.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
