Member of Technical Staff - Agentic Applications
About the role
As the first hire and zero-to-one owner of our Agentic Applications pod, you will serve as the founding engineer for Unconventional AI’s internal enterprise productivity suite. This is a high-impact, highly autonomous role where you will be the force multiplier for our entire team. You will be responsible for architecting and developing bespoke applications from the ground up using Agentic AI. Your work will directly accelerate our business operations, covering areas such as intelligent talent recruiting tools, dynamic knowledge bases, contextual AI assistants, and semantic search.
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Application Development: Architect, build, and maintain bespoke internal Enterprise Productivity applications powered by Agentic AI (e.g., smart recruiting tools, contextual assistants, and semantic search).
- Operational Ownership: Take full lifecycle ownership of your applications. You will leverage the Databricks Apps platform to streamline deployment, hosting, and scaling, ensuring our internal tools are highly reliable and performant.
- Product Management: Act as a highly autonomous self-starter to define what needs to be built. You will collaborate directly with internal stakeholders across the company to gather requirements, rapidly prototype, collect feedback, and ruthlessly prioritize the roadmap.
- Techical Strategy & Evaluation: Continuously evaluate the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem. Drive "build vs. buy" decisions for internal tooling to ensure we are solving problems with maximum speed and efficiency.
Requirements
- Education: BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience across both frontend and backend development.
- Languages: Strong programming proficiency in Python and/or modern JavaScript ecosystems (Node.js, React, Next.js, etc.).
- Agentic AI: Hands-on experience building agentic applications, including LLM orchestration (e.g., LangChain or similar frameworks).
- Databases: Solid database fundamentals, with practical experience using both standard SQL databases and Vector databases.
- DevOps: Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and taking end-to-end operational ownership of application deployment.
- Workflow: An "AI-native" development workflow, comfortable utilizing AI coding assistants like Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
- Portfolio: Provide demoable personal or past projects showcasing relevant full-stack or AI-driven builds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Domain Experience: Experience in enterprise application development, particularly building internal productivity or operations tools.
- Security: Deep understanding of application security, including implementing authentication protocols (e.g., SSO, OAuth, SAML) and robust access controls.
- RAG Pipelines: Proven expertise in designing and deploying robust RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines and utilizing advanced prompt engineering techniques.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience deploying, scaling, and maintaining applications in major cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Technical Domains: familiarity with machine learning or silicon engineering.
