Member of Technical Staff 1
About the role
The Opportunity Join our team at Nutanix as a Member of Technical Staff -1 Engineer in our San Jose office, where you will play a crucial role in providing a solid Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) product to our customers. Your mission will be to design and build an observability platform that allows our customers to proactively monitor and manage their hybrid cloud infrastructure and applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop features for the NCM data platform, ensuring high performance for both on-prem and cloud environments.
- Participate in data modeling discussions to influence the data products roadmap based on service team requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, testing, documentation, and product management, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Propose and implement best practices for operationalizing data platforms, enhancing data catalog and tracing capabilities.
- Continuously assess and enhance the team’s technology stack while adapting to evolving industry standards.
- Collaborate with the best engineers in the industry to work on complex challenges in shipping data platforms as part of enterprise software products.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or related streams
- 2+(Bachelors) or 0+(Masters) years of experience in software product development
- Experience with one or more of the following languages (Python, Scala, Java, Golang, C++)
- Experience working with Database technologies and optimizing workloads
- Experience working with Big Data technologies viz. Message queues/API gateways, Kubernetes ecosystem, and microservice patterns
- Having an owner's mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Experience working with Kubernetes ecosystem, microservice patterns and Apache Spark is a plus
- Awareness of Data Marts, Data Lakes and Data Warehouses is a plus
Qualifications
- Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration.
- In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.

- The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
Pay
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $90,400 and USD $180,000 per year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
