Megasys Technician

About the role

EMD Electronics is a global supplier of high‑tech materials, services and specialty chemicals for the electronics, automotive and cosmetics industries. The MEGASYS® technician provides on‑site support in semiconductor manufacturing environments, ensuring the supply of gases, chemicals and slurries needed to produce chips for electronic devices. This full‑time position involves 24/7 operations, periodic service calls, travel nationwide, and potential relocation for the right candidates. The role requires working with advanced gas and chemical blending equipment, chemical reprocessing, and life‑safety systems while adhering to operational, maintenance and emergency‑preparedness procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems.
• Handling and change‑out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers.
• Troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of gas and chemical equipment.
• Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs.
• Support of quality systems and adherence to site protocols.
• Primary communication point to the customer.

Physical Requirements

• Walking throughout the facility 75% of the time (approximately 3‑5 miles per day).
• Climbing ladders up to 12 feet (using fall protection).
• Basic lifting up to 40 lb.
• Bending of the knees and overhead reaching.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor, chemical, or other manufacturing setting.
• Understanding of safe work practices and experience with lockout/tag‑out projects.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical aptitude to identify parts needed for replacement or repair.
• Ability to read flow transmitters, pressure transducers, understand units of measure and use precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of materials of construction and chemical compatibility.
• Awareness to identify unsafe work conditions and report them to management.
• Excellent teamwork and people skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or another technical discipline.

Pay

$22‑$34 per hour (range represents the anticipated low and high end of base pay; actual compensation will depend on location, experience, education, skills and other job‑related factors). Position may be eligible for sales or performance‑based bonuses.

Schedule

Full‑time, 12‑hour shifts on a 24/7 schedule, including weekends and holidays. Technicians are scheduled onsite for 12‑hour shifts and may be called for periodic service visits. Travel and mobility are required; relocation assistance may be offered for the right candidates.
