About the role
In this role, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals, traveling to hospitals to perform software upgrades for automated medication dispensing devices.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, configuration, and updates for medical devices, software, and networking systems.
- Conduct routine checks to verify proper functionality after setup.
- Troubleshoot device and network issues, resolving technical problems independently or escalating complex cases.
- Follow calibration protocols for servicing equipment.
- Educate healthcare staff on device utilization and software functionality.
- Maintain compliance with hospital vendor credentialing requirements.
Requirements
- Ability to travel extensively for field-based service assignments.
- Associate degree in biomedical, IT, electronics, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ year of technical experience required; 3+ years in a field technician role preferred.
- Experience in IT support, electronics, biomedical engineering, or pharmacy technology is a plus.
- Must maintain personal parts inventory, sourcing from approved vendors.
Schedule
- Assignment-based position requiring open availability Monday–Friday.
- Work occurs 28–32 hours per week, plus travel time.
- Position requires some nights and weekends based on customer needs.
- Travel is regional, national, and local, with work scheduled during weekdays.
- Duties may require compliance with hospital vaccine and credentialing requirements.
Vaccine and Credentialing Requirements
A required function of this job requires individuals to enter various healthcare facilities. Thus, upon selection, individuals must complete the healthcare facility credentialing process. To obtain credentials, individuals must meet the immunization requirements specified by the facility, typically including:
- Measles, Mumps & Rubella vaccine (up to date)
- Varicella (chicken pox) vaccine (up to date)
- Negative Tuberculosis (TB) Test
- Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine (up to date)
- Hepatitis B vaccine (up to date)
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal)
- COVID-19 vaccine primary series (heavily enforced by most facilities; some require booster(s))

Pay
The potential base pay range for this role is $30–32 per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary based on job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, experience, location, and schedule.
