MedStar Health Urgent Care Physician (MD - DO)
- South Region (2 Waldorf locations, La Plata, Charlotte Hall, California)
Responsibilities
Experienced emergency, family, urgent care providers
- Work autonomously with supportive physician mentorship
- Assigned to a region but can set preferences for top sites
- Manage acute walk-in urgent cases and minor procedures
- Perform procedures such as suturing, fracture care/splinting, I&Ds, interpreting EKGs, and wet reading X-rays (films are read by a radiologist)
- On-site, low-complexity lab for point of care testing
- Full x-ray suite at most sites
- Ambulatory care setting open 12 hours daily
- Shift lengths may vary
Requirements
Provider must be board certified/eligible in emergency medicine, urgent care, or family medicine
- Advanced Practice Providers work autonomously with supportive physician mentorship
- Must have on-site access to pediatric, emergency medicine, and cardiologist teleconsultant providers
- Excellent continuity of care through MedStar Health System's network of nine emergency departments, broad network of primary care and sub-specialists
- Referral management program supports patient access to primary care and specialist follow-up
Qualifications
