About the role

Sécheron Hasler Group is a leading global supplier of electrical and electronic safety components and solutions for the railway industry. This Sales Engineer role offers a blend of technical estimating and customer-facing sales, ideal for those skilled in both areas.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical estimates, quotations, and solutions for traction power substation and electrified rail applications.
  • Engage directly with clients to deliver tailored solutions and presentations while maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Provide support on DC and AC products, including:
    • DC switchgear, high-speed breakers, and panels
    • Rectifiers, power converters, and voltage limiting devices
    • Multi-function protection relays and custom electro-mechanical solutions
  • Develop a strategic business plan to build a robust pipeline, identify opportunities, and achieve annual sales goals.
  • Model financial business cases to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
  • Lead responses for RFPs/RFIs and stay informed on market trends.
  • Attend trade associations, conferences, and client events to represent the company and educate stakeholders on product advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical experience will also be considered.
  • Sales Engineer, Project Manager, or technical sales background with custom electro-mechanical solutions.
  • Prior experience in power distribution, switchgear manufacturing, or similar roles (3+ years preferred).
  • Familiarity with DC and AC power systems (Low Voltage and Medium Voltage).
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Excellent Excel and MS Office Suite (Office 365) proficiency.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable in complex technical environments.
  • Ability to analyze technical requirements and create clear, accurate solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, international team setting.
