Redwood Materials is a company that localizes a global battery supply chain, focusing on recycling and producing battery materials in the U.S. Founded in 2017, Redwood aims to deliver low-cost and large-scale energy storage solutions.
Responsibilities
- Work as a team member with the entire facilities organization, as well as all other organizations within Redwood Materials.
- Operate various MV (up to 34.5kV) substation apparatus and distribution equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot various types of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints in order to maintain, operate, and repair electrical systems of varying power levels.
- Consult manuals, read and interpret diagrams, P&IDs, blueprints, and schematics.
- Perform a wide variety of job scopes.
- Display a positive attitude and practice a good work ethic that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback to internal teams.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of Electrician journeyman level or higher experience in industrial or commercial settings.
- Completion of Substation Maintenance I training (as per AVO Training Institute or equivalent).
- Ability to complete Substation Maintenance II training (as per AVO Training Institute or equivalent).
- Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meters, and other test equipment.
- Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book.
- Experienced in handling low voltage to 480 VAC.
- Experienced in operating medium voltage to 34.5kV.
- Knowledge in installing and troubleshooting of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electronic components is a plus.
- Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics.
- Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modifications.
- Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or field walks and routing.
- Ability to produce as-built drawings for work performed.
- Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required.
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures.
- Able to work in high elevation up to 60 ft. high.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have a high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with others.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs carrying weight.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
Working Conditions
- Environment, such as office or outdoors and inclement weather conditions.
- Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, or extreme heat/cold.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as an occasional part of the job.
Pay
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The position is full-time.
