Rutherford County, TN, is looking to add a Medicolegal Death Investigator to the Medical Examiner's Office team.

About the role

  • Conducts autopsies and forensic examinations
  • Investigates deaths to determine cause and manner of death
  • Collaborates with law enforcement agencies
  • Prepares reports and testifies in court

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed medical and forensic examinations
  • Collects evidence from crime scenes
  • Interacts with families and communities affected by deaths
  • Ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science, Medicine, Biology, or related field
  • Current certification as a Medical Examiner or equivalent
  • Experience in forensic investigations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications
