Rutherford County, TN, is looking to add a Medicolegal Death Investigator to the Medical Examiner's Office team.
About the role
- Conducts autopsies and forensic examinations
- Investigates deaths to determine cause and manner of death
- Collaborates with law enforcement agencies
- Prepares reports and testifies in court
Responsibilities
- Performs detailed medical and forensic examinations
- Collects evidence from crime scenes
- Interacts with families and communities affected by deaths
- Ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science, Medicine, Biology, or related field
- Current certification as a Medical Examiner or equivalent
- Experience in forensic investigations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
