Medication Technician - Part Time

Job Description

The Medication Technician assists resident with medications under supervision of a licensed nurse. Assists by performing routine resident related care duties and activities of daily living.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

• Accepts, accounts and documents all new medications brought into the facility.
• Safely prepares and aides with resident self-administration of medications.
• Maintains accurate medication documentation and records.
• Guides the resident in maintaining his/her schedule of daily activities, while maintaining the residents sense of independence.
• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, student or equivalent.
• Completion of required RCFE training as Medication Technician.
• Current First Aid & CPR certification.
• At least one year of experience as a caregiver in a facility or in-home caregiving.
• Knowledge and practice of safe lifting and back care techniques.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Minimum one-year experience preferred as Medication Technician.
