About the role

The Medication Technician position at MBK Senior Living is dedicated to providing compassionate, quality resident care and services. This role focuses on assisting residents with medication administration and daily activities, ensuring all actions are in line with personalized service plans, policies, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Aid residents with their daily medications, treatments, and resident care as assigned.
  • Notify Supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered correctly and document the reasons.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records on resident medication and care.
  • Track medication orders and report missing medications to the Supervisor.
  • Support caregivers by fulfilling their job duties and reporting any resident changes to a supervisor.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and resident alerts or requests.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment following established safety standards.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
  • Lead with a spirit of teamwork and open communication through consistent mentoring, coaching, and recognition programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Health Services and/or Executive Director.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Certification or education as required by state regulations.
  • Valid CPR & First Aid certification.
  • 1+ years of prior related work experience in a healthcare role.
  • Experience handling medications preferred.

  • Willingness and ability to manage and respond to resident behaviors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with technology for documentation.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and manage stressful situations.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be mobile and able to perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive motion.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds.
  • Ability to move throughout the workday, in the community, and between neighborhoods.
  • Ability to assist in the physical movement of residents during routine transfers and in emergency situations.

Schedule
