Medication Technician (Assisted Living)

Responsibilities

• Observe residents for any changes in condition and report to supervisor
• Document and report changes in condition
• Provide medication set up, assistance and administration if applicable
• Log medications from pharmacies, verify physician’s orders and communicate any concerns
• Track all medications and re-order as needed
• Track residence vital signs, diabetic testing and/or insulin injection, ambulation, etc.
• Assist residents with ADLs
• Demonstrate a positive working relationship with residents, family members and staff
• Promote and protect residents rights and treat residents with dignity and respect
• Attend in-service and education programs and obtain continuing education required by state regulations
• Demonstrate the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions
• Maintain confidentiality of resident’s information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
• Maintain professional appearance by adherence to community dress code
• Complete documentation in an informative and descriptive manner
• Report all changes in a resident’s condition to the supervisor as soon as possible
• Complete work schedules and assigned tasks in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the community
• Operate equipment in a safe manner and only utilize equipment once proper training has occurred
• Utilize Infection Control precautions and practices with all activities
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

• NC Med Tech Certification
• NC CNA or PCA Certification
• Covid vaccine or religious/medical exemption
• Good standing with credentialing organization/NCDHHS/other regulatory agencies
