Medication Aide (MA)

Responsibilities

• Provide medication assistance to patients under the supervision of a licensed professional.
• Ensure medications are administered correctly and according to the patient's needs and doctor’s orders.
• Document all medication administration accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding medication administration and patient health status.

Requirements

• Active Certified Medication Aide within South Dakota, or ability to apply for reciprocity/endorsement.
• Maintains required certification/qualifications and associated standards.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
