Medication Aide / Caregiver

Responsibilities

• Respects the resident's room as home and assists in self-care tasks.
• Provides care for grooming, hygiene, dining, mobility, elimination, psychosocial, and safety needs.
• Assists with activities of daily living and independent activities.
• Responds to resident requests and call bells, reporting changes in condition to leadership.
• Communicates and documents services provided, recommending changes to the resident’s support/service plan.
• Accurately and safely prepares, administers, and documents the administration of all medications and treatments.
• Observes residents for needs, reactions to medications, and reports to licensed nursing staff.
• Performs basic care procedures such as catheter care, temperature checks, and blood pressure monitoring.
• Meets psychosocial needs through planned and spontaneous actions, organizing social activities, and participating in learning circles.
• Assists with transportation to outside appointments and accompanies residents as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness in the household, supplies, and pets, and coordinates with the household homemaker.
• Assists residents with personal laundry, ensuring they can care for their own needs.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older, except for state positions requiring active Nurse Aide registry.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of required medication training.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong communication skills.
• Previous experience working with older adults preferred.
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

$16 to $18/hour, plus additional differentials available.

Schedule

Part Time Day, Part Time Night, PRN (flexible scheduling)
