Responsibilities
- Assist senior residents with daily well-being, including personal services, medication assistance, and social-recreational activities.
- Complete nursing treatments and monitor residents' vital signs.
- Maintain medication/treatment records, comply with regulatory, OSHA, and incident reporting guidelines.
- Communicate with physician, pharmacy, and family as indicated to assure medications are received promptly.
- Store medications and equipment and keep the medication room clean and orderly.
- Follow the resident service plan including assistance, bathing, grooming, administering medication, and other activities of daily living (ADLs), noting changes in the resident condition.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control procedures.
- Support the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and home-like environment for residents.
Requirements
- Must have a current CNA license.
- Typical candidates have six months of experience in senior caregiving or med pass.
- Can obtain CPR/BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and first aid.
