Medication Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist senior residents with daily well-being, including personal services, medication assistance, and social-recreational activities.
• Complete nursing treatments and monitor residents' vital signs.
• Maintain medication/treatment records, comply with regulatory, OSHA, and incident reporting guidelines.
• Communicate with physician, pharmacy, and family as indicated to assure medications are received promptly.
• Store medications and equipment and keep the medication room clean and orderly.
• Follow the resident service plan including assistance, bathing, grooming, administering medication, and other activities of daily living (ADLs), noting changes in the resident condition.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control procedures.
• Support the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and home-like environment for residents.

Requirements

• Must have a current CNA license.
• Typical candidates have six months of experience in senior caregiving or med pass.
• Can obtain CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and first aid.
