Medication Aide

About the role

We are Golden Sands, a retirement and assisted living community providing compassionate care in a nurturing environment. We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our exceptional team.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior residents in their daily well-being, including personal services, medication assistance, and social-recreational activities.
• Report to the wellness director.
• Complete nursing treatments and monitor residents' vital signs.
• Maintain medication/treatment records, comply with regulatory, OSHA, and incident reporting guidelines.
• Communicate with physician, pharmacy, and family as indicated to assure medications are received promptly.
• Store medications and equipment and keep the medication room clean and orderly.
• Follow the resident service plan including; assistance, bathing, grooming, administering medication, and other activities of daily living (ADLs), noting changes in the resident condition.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control procedures.
• Support the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and home-like environment for residents.

Requirements

• Willing to work weekends.
• HCA license required.
• 6 PM - 6 AM shift differential offered.
• 6 months of experience in senior caregiving or med pass preferred.
• Ability to obtain CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Typical candidates have six months of experience in senior caregiving or med pass.

Skills

• Knowledge of infection control procedures.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
