About the role
We’re seeking a Medication Aide/Tech (Part time & Full time) to provide medication management and support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Responsibilities
- Follow each resident’s service plan in a friendly and supportive manner, including passing medications per physician orders and Medication Administration Records
- Document completion of daily tasks and observed changes in residents’ conditions
- Communicate resident needs with other Medication Aides to ensure consistent care
- Participate in meal service, including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room
- Manage staff under your supervision during working hours
- Maintain required certifications and attend ongoing training and in-service programs
- Comply with the Continuous Quality Improvement program and report issues to your supervisor
- Follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogen Guidelines
- Report suspected elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or State
- Work safely and foster a safe work environment for all employees
- Support teamwork, take initiative, and maintain a positive impact on residents, visitors, and coworkers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year of experience in a caregiving role or similar function
- At least six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field
- Ability to read physician orders and match them to Medication Administration Records
- Understanding of medical terminology adequate to administer medications and communicate with medical professionals
- Certifications as required by state
- Must be 18 years or older and meet all health requirements, including TB clearance
- First Aid certification required
