Medical Writer II

About the role
Prepare clinical study reports (CSRs) by translating data tables, listings, and figures into study outcome reports, ensuring data consistency and regulatory compliance. Translate clinical study synopses into full protocols, collaborating with project team members for input and accuracy. Interpret data and apply scientific, regulatory, and compliance knowledge to document preparation.
Responsibilities
- Review clinical data and documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency in style and quality
- Conduct medical/scientific literature searches to support documentation
- Track abstract submission deadlines and key dates for ophthalmology-related scientific conferences
- Coordinate with Clinical and R&D teams on conference abstract submissions
- Prepare and edit presentations, slide decks, posters, and other scientific communications
- Assist in developing figures, tables, and graphical content for publications and presentations
- Manage multiple writing assignments and prioritize deliverables to meet project timelines
- Participate in project team meetings, providing documentation status updates
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in clinical research, medical writing, life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries
- Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies, medical terminology, and scientific principles
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for clinical/regulatory documentation
- Experience with CSRs, protocols, publications, abstracts, or posters preferred
- Ophthalmology experience preferred
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate complex scientific information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, Public Health, or related field required; advanced degree (MS, PharmD, OD, PhD, MPH) preferred
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $35.38 – $44.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (100% Onsite)
